Our government does not recognize diapers as a basic need. Since diapers are not eligible for federally-subsidized food stamps or WIC, the cost of diapers puts an enormous financial strain on struggling families just trying to make ends meet. It's nearly impossible for low-income families to afford enough clean diapers for their children without the help of organizations like Miami Diaper Bank. It's reported that almost 1 in 2 American families (47%) have to choose between diapers and other basic needs like food. No parent should ever have to choose between providing these basic necessities for their family.

On November 23rd, 2015, the Miami Diaper Bank was honored as the Miami Heat’s non-profit of the night. Along with on-court recognition, and raising over $5,000, we were able to bring 15 kids from the Chapman House to “high-five” their favorite players as they entered the court.
The Children’s Trust
Since 2019, The Children’s Trust has partnered with Miami Diaper Bank to help build capacity after an exponential growth period as well as COVID-19 response funds to help families during the height of the pandemic. Together we have been able to distribute 1,000,000+ diapers to families affected by diaper need in Miami-Dade.

In May 2016, Whole Foods Market & The Miami Diaper Bank joined forces and hosted a diaper drive. In total, Whole Foods Market donated over 14,000 diapers, approximately 415 packs, which were distributed to 5 beneficiaries: Cope Center North, Chapman Partnership, WIC Miami-Dade program, Lotus House and His Caring Place.
